Signing in

Spanner uses email-based authentication. The first time you enter your email, Spanner creates your account automatically. Subsequent visits sign you in.

In the app #

The sign-in form is on the home page. Enter your email and Spanner sends a sign-in link to that address. Click the link in the email to sign in.

How it works #

Magic links #

A magic link is a one-time URL sent by email. Each link is valid for 15 minutes and works once. After clicking, the link takes you straight into the app. Past links and used links return an error.

Magic links are sent automatically when you enter an email at the sign-in form. No password is required to receive one.

Passwords #

If you've set a password for your account, you can sign in with email and password instead of waiting for a link. The sign-in form switches to password mode when a password is detected.

You can set a password from the Settings page, or set one the first time you reset your password.

Notes #

The sign-in link expires after 15 minutes. If it has expired, request a new one from the home page.

Signing out ends the current session. You'll need to sign in again to access your data.
