Preferences
Each vehicle has its own preferences. Preferences control what the History table shows and which emails the vehicle's owner receives.
In the app #
Preferences are set on the Edit screen. Open a vehicle from the Vehicles page, pick Edit from its menu, and look for the Preferences section below the vehicle details.
What's available #
Enable cost #
Shows the cost column on the History table and adds a cost field to the record form. Turn it off if you don't track spending on this vehicle.
Show mileage adjustment records #
Includes mileage-only records in the History table. With this off, mileage adjustments are tracked internally but hidden from view.
Send reminder emails #
Sends an email two weeks before a reminder's due date and again on the day it's due. Turn it off to stop receiving reminder emails for this vehicle without affecting other vehicles.
Send prompt for records email #
Sends a weekly email suggesting records to log, based on what has been done in the past. Turn it off if you don't want the prompt for this vehicle.
Retiring and restoring #
Retiring hides a vehicle from the default list but keeps its records, reminders, and service schedules intact. Use it when you've sold the vehicle, finished tracking it, or want to set it aside without losing history. Retired vehicles remain accessible through the filter at the top of the Vehicles page.
The Retire toggle lives at the bottom of the Edit screen. It can also be picked from the vehicle's menu on the Vehicles page.
Restoring brings a retired vehicle back. All attached data reappears unchanged. Pick Retire again on the vehicle (or un-retire from the Edit screen) to restore it.
Notes #
Preferences are per-vehicle. Changing one vehicle's preferences doesn't affect any other. Notification preferences can also be changed globally from the Manage notifications link in any email.
